Sustainability report 2025
Location: Långasjönäs, Karlshamn, Sweden
1) Sustainability policy & commitment
Långasjönäs Camping & Stugby works actively for responsible tourism and continuous improvement in sustainability. Our business is located in and around a sensitive natural environment and we prioritize protecting natural values, reducing environmental impact and contributing positively to the local community and local culture.
We have implemented a policy against all forms of harassment and human rights violations. All staff are informed and trained on the policy and related procedures.
2) Key sustainability measures
Environmental protection & biodiversity
We operate with great respect for protected nature and work to minimize disturbance to wildlife and habitats.
We prevent littering and pollution through clear rules and management of activities.
In landscape management and restoration, we prioritize native species where possible and avoid introducing invasive species.
Water saving & water pollution prevention
Timed showers (token system) for campers reduce water consumption.
We do not allow washing/cleaning of vehicles on the site to avoid chemicals, oils or detergents getting into the soil and water.
Camping and cabins follow regulated distances to sensitive beach zones.
Wastewater & treatment
We have made a major investment to connect both the camping area and the cabins to the municipal sewage and treatment system.
The project is in its final phase: all properties are connected except for one cottage which still uses an individual sewerage solution (septic tank).
During the winter of 2025, a new property (Semesterhem) for group rentals (under construction) was also connected and will be handed over to us for management in 2026.
Energy and climate
We are working to reduce energy use through improvements in buildings and technical solutions.
We encourage cabin owners to invest in improved insulation during renovations through a points system that gives higher payouts to cabin owners who make such investments.
Reducing food waste
Target: Zero food waste in the restaurant
Actions include:
Sometimes not offering certain pizza varieties to avoid buying fresh ingredients that might not be used.
Reducing the number of ingredients so that the same ingredients can be used in several different pizza varieties.
More action to follow in 2026
Cleaning products & indoor environment
We reduce our environmental footprint by mixing and dosing certain cleaning products ourselves according to hygiene requirements and correct dosage. This reduces the amount of active chemicals without lowering hygiene levels.
We are also reviewing our purchasing policy and aiming to prioritize more environmentally friendly cleaning products.
Drinking water (tap water)
We encourage the use of safe tap water and offer water free of charge in the restaurant, camping and cabins.
All taps in the camping area and in the cabins offer free drinking water.
Cultural heritage & local community
We support local traditions by organizing and implementing a traditional Midsummer celebration.
We integrate local traditions, seasonal elements and Swedish lifestyle into our guest experience and communication.
Stakeholder Dialogue & Communication
We communicate our sustainability efforts publicly through our website.
Guest information and booking communication
information and instructions on site (signage, etc.)
We engage guests by encouraging: waste sorting and proper waste management
water and energy saving behaviors
respectful behavior in protected natural areas
Targets for 2026
Develop and publish more sustainability documentation and results.
Continue to reduce food waste and strengthen sustainable sourcing of cleaning products.
